In Acts chapter 16, Paul and Silas were serving the Lord, sharing the Gospel wherever they went. But when they cast out a demon from a young girl (which angered the men who made money from her predictions), they found themselves cast into jail.
The easy thing would have been for Paul and Silas to be angry with the Lord. Instead, after being beaten, they sang praises to the Savior.
Life can be tricky and challenging. Even when we are serving the Lord well, tragedies and trials can lurk behind the corner.
I’ve been there myself — driven to my knees, pleading with the Lord to guide my steps through the darkest of days.
What special times these are in the Christian life when we distinctly experience the Lord at work within us when we are confronted with a unique time of confusion or pain. I’m sure you’ve been there too.
In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus gives us great comfort.
He says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am a gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (NKJV).
Resting in Christ is an amazing thing!
We see in the above passage that the Lord wants us to:
  • Take our cares to Him.
  • Rest in Him.
  • Learn from Him.
  • Find our comfort in Him.
  • Have our souls renewed in Him.
At Thomas Road Worldwide, we desire to communicate the Gospel with people everywhere so that they too can know the peace of knowing the Lord Jesus.
In these warm months, as people take vacations and get involved in projects, it is difficult to raise needed funds to carry on our work for Christ. Please consider making a SUMMER MINISTRY SPECIAL GIFT this month as we continue to proclaim the Gospel through our various ministries. We must continue to work together to reach others for the Savior!
In Christ,
